Ernestine Anderson’s “Moonlight in Vermont” is from the ’60s, and like much of the music from that time, it is recorded without much compression and digital tricks. I tried listening without the Stacks under my Lyngdorf TDAI-1120 amp. The sound was good—open and beautiful. After placing the EQs back, the reverb of her smooth vocal was clearly audible, and there was a better flow and ease to the music that was captivating.
So, the AUVA EQs will stay, replacing a set of IsoAcoustics Orea Bronze and some EVPs, which are both good. Stack Audio’s EQ footers are just better—more musical and more enjoyable.
