“With the AUVA feet in place, that mechanical interaction was dramatically reduced. Bass became noticeably tighter, cleaner and more articulate, with better definition of pitch and texture and far less overhang.”
“I installed Stack Audio AUVA SW feet under the rear Velodyne DD10+ subwoofer, and the improvement was immediately obvious and more significant than I expected. Prior to fitting the AUVA SW feet, I could clearly hear the subwoofer coupling with the floor and carpet, which introduced muddiness to the bass and made it easier to localise where the low frequencies were coming from.
With the AUVA feet in place, that mechanical interaction was dramatically reduced. Bass became noticeably tighter, cleaner and more articulate, with better definition of pitch and texture and far less overhang. The subwoofer integrated far more seamlessly, creating a more coherent and natural presentation across the entire low-frequency range.
Interestingly, even without increasing the subwoofer volume, it felt as though there was greater true low-end extension and authority simply because the bass was now better controlled and more focused. Beyond the bass improvements, the benefits extended to the whole system: midrange and high frequencies became more defined, imaging improved, and the overall presentation sounded more realistic and stable.
To verify what I was hearing, I performed RT60 decay measurements in REW both before and after installing the AUVA SW feet. The measurements clearly showed a significant reduction in low-frequency decay times, particularly in the critical bass region, which directly mirrors the cleaner, faster and more controlled bass response I experienced during listening.
In my highly resolving system and acoustically treated room, the AUVA SW feet delivered a measurable and clearly audible upgrade, transforming the DD10+ into a far better integrated and more musical part of the system.
I have attached below the REW RT60 graph for reference, which visually confirms the improvement in decay performance (blue line before and purple line after installing).”
