Intro

Vibration isolation is one of the most talked-about upgrades in hi-fi, and IsoAcoustics’ Gaia feet are among the best known. We kept hearing from customers who had lived with Gaia and then tried our AUVA isolators, so rather than tell you what we think, we’ve gathered their words. These are individual experiences in individual systems; isolation results always depend on your speakers, room and setup.

Gaia is a well-regarded product with a loyal following; several of the owners below rated it highly before switching. Here’s what they told us.

The comments below reflect the individual experiences and opinions of the customers and reviewers quoted. Results vary between systems and setups. Stack Audio does not claim that these experiences are representative of every system.

Under floorstanding speakers

“Got the AUVA 100s a week ago for my Meridian active speakers, after living with Gaia II, spikes and Herbie’s on stone tiles over concrete. No contest. They fit nicely under the DSP9s… and transform my formerly excellent speakers.” — Brad B., AUVA 100 · Meridian DSP9

“My first impressions compared to the Gaia’s Titan were that there was much more a 3D and holographic sound. The voices and instruments were more or less floating in the air.” — R. Altona, AUVA 100 · Magico S5

“I replaced my Gaia I feet with your AUVA 100’s and, even though I’d heard all the rave reviews, I was still surprised at how much they transformed the sound of my system.” — Phong T., AUVA 100

“It sounds as if the speakers have been liberated and finally let me hear what they can. I have tried Gaia’s, but they were no good at all in my system and I had to return them.” — D. L., AUVA 100 · PureAudioProject Quintet 15

“AUVA 100 replacing previous shoes of IsoAcoustic Gaia. First impression: bass punch is tighter and faster. The already wide soundstage is wider and music is more three-dimensional.” — Wong L., AUVA 100 · Kharma db9

Under standmounts & other speakers

“They replaced my IsoAcoustics Gaia 3 feet. I must say I’m impressed. Better bass, imaging is better, more detail and more openness. Great stuff.” — Ed V., AUVA 50 · Martin Logan Ethos

“The bass line has become faster, punchier and well-defined, it is not separated from the mids as was the case with the Gaia’s. My PMCs no longer give anything away into the wooden floor.” — Dan T., AUVA 70 · PMC twenty5.24

“I’d been using Gaia IIs, which did a good job, so I wasn’t expecting miracles. Must admit though – the AUVAs make a night-and-day difference. I mean that literally.” — Mr I., AUVA · ATC SCM19 / Paradigm Persona B

“They replace a set of Gaia II’s under my Marten Getz 2 speakers. The sound transformed — lots of control and well defined, while remaining very musical at all times.” — Jan T., AUVA · Marten Getz 2

“The AUVA perform wonderfully under my big Harbeth 40.2. They replace the Gaia footers and do wonders — better clarity, timing — without any artifacts. A very good upgrade!” — Benoit S., AUVA · Harbeth 40.2

“Absolutely several notches above the Gaia’s in all aspects.” — T. J., AUVA 50

“The soundstage / imaging clarity I got with the Gaia’s — likely even more — but most importantly the party hasn’t been taken away!!” — Dean P., AUVA 70

“The AUVAs sound better, while still doing the Gaia trick of keeping vibration in the air and not the furniture/walls. And they’re much more stable and easier to set up.” — William C., AUVA

“I had previously installed decent anti-resonance pucks from IsoAcoustics (Gaia), and yet the change in sound with the AUVAs was not subtle.” — Radoslav K., AUVA 50 · Dynaudio Confidence C1
