Software update for LINK users
Stack Audio has decided to move away from the Volumio based platform.
Companies like Roon, Audirvana, Bubble UpNP etc. invest vast amounts of resources and time into maturing and perfecting their control software. So we decided to ensure the new OS works as well as possible with the following programs.
- Roon (now more optimised for Roon)
- Audirvana
- UPnP/DLNA
- Shairport-Sync (Airplay)
- Liberspot (Spotify Connect)
- Squeezelite
Soon to be added features
- HQ-soittimen päätepiste
- Bluetooth
The new software does not output HDMI video and it does not act as a server. This new approach has helped reduce background processing thus sonically improving the performance of the LINK.
We noticed very few customers where using the HDMI. For those who do use the HDMI output we suggest sticking to Volumio (the current software on the LINK).
If you store your music on a USB hard disk we also suggest you stick with Volumio. We are currently working to integrate HDD support on the new StackOS.
