Installaton Experience

Patrick B, France.

Installation feedback

The purchase concerned an ALTO ArmBoard (for ARO) and an ALTO Sub-Chassis for LP12 (to replace the often-criticized original solution).

Why did you choose SERENE components?

Compatibility with the Aro arm.

A lower price compared to other solutions.

Absence of unfavorable comments on the forums.

Why did you decide to do the install yourself?

Replacing mechanical components is easy (if you have the right tools and the method). My area is free of specialist LP12 dealers.

Overall, how easy did you find the installation?

Yes, because I have already operated several times on my LP12.

Approximately how long did the install take?

3 or 4 hours (?), a coffee, two cigarettes and a beer.

Did you change any other components at the same time? (e.g.: bearing, arm, cartridge etc)

No (the bearing and the springs had been changed 9 months earlier, by myself).

Are you happy with the result?

Yes!

What was the trickiest bit?

I did not encounter any difficulties in assembling the purchased components.

Would you service/install it again yourself or take it to a dealer?

No.

What advice would you give to someone who is starting out installing the parts for the first time?

In addition to a minimum technical skill, it is necessary to know the advice for use (I mainly learned through the documentation published by Cymbiosis).

A set-up jig is the minimum equipment to operate (I made mine, removable for easy storage).

Can you provide any images of your installation?

Yes (attachments).
